TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
To travel to India for tourism, business or studies you are required to have a valid passport and an entry visa. Visas are issued in Indian Embassies or Missions. No entry visas are issued at the entry point and a traveler without an entry visa will be detained and deported.
A person applying for a visa must have a passport that will be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date of their intended departure from India. So please make sure to renew your passport if it is due to expire within that period of time.
TOURIST VISAS
Entry visas for tourists are generally issued for six months from the date of issue. If you intend to visit neighboring countries and re-enter India, ask for a six months visa with a request for multiple entries.
To find the Indian Embassy or Mission nearest you and for the most reliable information about visas, please click here and go online to the Consular Passport & Visa Division of the Indian government.

LIABILITIES, TRAVEL INSURANCE AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A PARTICIPANT
Relief Workers International has taken great care to design a trip that is in all its aspects safe and exciting. While it is not mandatory for you to purchase Travel Insurance, we strongly encourage that you do so.
Given the nature of the trip, Relief Workers participants may be exposed to unforeseen injuries while traveling in India. We recommend that you purchase a comprehensive international insurance plan.
Travelex Insurance policies cover trip cancellation, medical expenses due to accidents, emergency evacuation back to the United States, baggage loss, and expenses due to air travel delays.
The cost of Travelex insurance is based on the insured’s age and the cost of the trip. Travelex insurance is only available for people living in the United States. For more information about their coverage of our trips, click on the Travelex graphic.

Or call their customer service hotline at 1-800-228-9792 and please be sure to refer to our Relief Workers International location number: 21-0022.

Unfortunately, we must purchase non-returnable relief supplies well in advance of our trips. Therefore, no refunds will be made to those who cancel trips within the 30 days prior to the beginning date of a tour they have signed on to.
